Richmond, Virginia

We are excited to be off tomorrow, our last day. As long as the tour was, with every day just a drop in the bucket, the end came hurtling towards us at an incredible rate. Soon we will be in the air and back home to where we started. The day we began was so long ago.

We took Shannon and his wife to dinner tonight. We will sleep at their house. Despite the size of Richmond, it is a nice, friendly city. The ride in was on busy roads, but that is unavoidable. Steve is feeling better, but not completely recovered; at least he was stronger on the bike today.

Yesterday, we stayed in Mineral at the Volunteer Fire Department. They let us use their shower and kitchen. Very nice. The fire departments have been really generous with their facilities, which is a welcome change from overpriced campgrounds that often offered far less.
